First Day Printing

This was a very exciting day where we got to print posters for the first time! We used the front press which is technically part of the front shop, the smaller one of these beasts of machines. The poster we were working on is this coffee one which is one of their best sellers, selling up to 8,000 annually. It is a really fun poster, whereby we got to hand ink the image with whatever colours we wanted, thus making everyone of them individual and exciting, a feeling of putting your hand into a pic n' mix bag. The poster is made up of 2 different prints, kind of like a positive and a negative image, put together to make a whole. We didn't get through the whole lot of the first image, but we have it a damn good try and churned out as many as we could in that day. I'm really looking forward to getting the other part of it printed also as it's a lot of fun and will be nice to see a completed poster which the real public will buy! The other machine that you see my working on is a mini press, which they do smaller jobs on- in this case I was printing information leaflets which are given out. It does other such jobs as invitations, business cards and some.
